Two tissue sources. Distinct surgical characteristics.

The EvoGraft soft-tissue portfolio includes fascia lata recovered from the lateral thigh and tissue recovered from the human pericardial sac.

Both are supplied as processed human allografts, but they differ in native anatomy, thickness, texture, configuration and handling. Product selection should be based on the procedural requirements and current product labeling.

Fascia lata and pericardium should not be presented as interchangeable products. Each tissue has its own anatomy, processing, handling and use information.

Fascia lata
Dense fibrous connective tissue from the lateral thigh
Pericardium
Thin, collagen-rich tissue from the pericardial sac

EvoGraft Fascia Lata

Broad fibrous tissue for soft-tissue reconstruction

EvoGraft Fascia Lata is a human soft-tissue allograft supplied in sheet and patch configurations. Its broad, fibrous format allows the clinician to trim, position and secure the tissue according to the anatomy and procedural plan, consistent with the current Instructions for Use.

  • Size-selected fascia lata sheets
  • Frozen fascia lata sheets
  • 15 × 20 mm, 20 × 30 mm and 30 × 40 mm patches

EvoGraft Pericardium

Thin tissue for focused coverage and repair

EvoGraft Pericardium is derived from donated human pericardial tissue and supplied in sheet configurations. Its relatively thin, pliable form may be considered when a qualified healthcare professional requires a human soft-tissue patch or covering consistent with current labeling.

  • 15 × 20 mm
  • 20 × 30 mm
  • 30 × 40 mm

Start with the procedural requirement

Product selection should reflect the tissue characteristics, controlled labeling, institutional protocol and clinician judgment.

  • Required coverage area
  • Desired thickness and pliability
  • Need for a broad sheet or focused patch
  • Preferred preservation method
  • Required trimming or suturing
  • Anatomic location
  • Institutional protocol
  • Current product labeling

Controlled preparation for human soft tissue

Always follow the product-specific Instructions for Use, institutional protocol and aseptic technique.

  1. 01

    Confirm

Verify tissue type, preservation method, dimensions, expiration information and package integrity.

  2. 02

    Prepare

Thaw, hydrate or otherwise prepare the allograft as directed by its product-specific Instructions for Use.

  3. 03

    Transfer

Introduce the tissue to the sterile field using aseptic technique.

  4. 04

    Size

Trim or shape the tissue when permitted by the labeling and procedural plan.

  5. 05

    Place

Position and secure the tissue according to clinician technique.

  6. 06

    Document

Complete the required allograft tissue-tracking record.

Common soft-tissue allograft questions

What is fascia lata?

Fascia lata is dense connective tissue recovered from the lateral portion of the human thigh and processed as a soft-tissue allograft.

What is human pericardium?

Human pericardium is tissue recovered from the sac surrounding the heart and processed into an allograft sheet.

Are fascia lata and pericardium the same tissue?

No. They come from different anatomical sources and have different native structures and handling characteristics.

Is fascia lata available frozen?

Yes. The current portfolio includes both preserved and frozen fascia lata references.

Can the grafts be trimmed?

Preparation and trimming should follow the current product-specific Instructions for Use and clinician technique.

How should these products be stored?

Storage requirements vary by tissue and preservation method. Confirm the controlled labeling for the individual product.
